Documenting significant trees of the region.

Do you have a favourite tree in the region? Upload a photo and tell us why it is significant to win a range of cash prizes. Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking community input in developing a tree register to document the significant trees of the region. The register will assist council in ensuring the nominated trees are protected. It will also help inform the development of a list of trees that grow well in the area and capture the character of the region. Learn how you can get involved and win prizes.

Tieri Picnic in the Park – Postponed.

Tieri’s Picnic in the Park, expected to be held this Sunday, has been put on pause due to the current COVID-19 situation. The decision to postpone the event has not come easily for organisers who are looking forward to announcing a new date when circumstances are more favourable. “We apologise for any inconvenience this postponement has caused as we had a large number of registrations from the community”. The postponement falls in line with other events as the region works towards ensuring our community remains safe and avoids a COVID-19 situation similar to various areas around the country: “New dates for the Tieri Picnic will be announced at a later date”.
