A free opportunity for students to practice their golf swing

Glencore and the Tieri Golf Club are offering our students free Golf lessons on Saturday mornings at 10am & 11am. These are 1-hour lessons at the club, taught by a former Australian No 1 golfer, Mr. Terry Price! All children are welcome to join Mr. Price on May 15th for a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn the tips and tricks that made him an Australian golf legend.

Oaky Creek rehabilitation earns government approval

Glencore’s Oaky Creek Coal is now government approved for 132.8 hectares of rehabilitated mined land. Resources Minister Scott Stewart announced it during his visit to Oaky Creek last weekend to look at the site’s rehabilitation work, including the two areas that were submitted to government for certification assessment. This is the fifth successful certification application in the past three years by a Glencore site in Queensland and the seventh across Glencore’s Australian coal business.

Tieri Commemorates ANZAC Day

As the sun rose on April 25th, Tieri locals gathered to commemorate ANZAC Day with a sombre and respectful dawn service held at Tieri’s Cenotaph. The parkland surrounding the Cenotaph was lined with crosses to remember those that who have lost their lives and as the bugle played the Last Post a minutes silence was observed to honour all past and current servicemen and women and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The opening of the highly anticipated Tieri Outside School Care is just around the corner with the first day of care launching on Tuesday 27th April 2021. Parents can enroll their children by visiting the Tieri State School Monday 19 – Friday 23 April 2021 between 7.30 – 9am and 2.30-4pm or by contacting 0488 212 136 Privately-owned and operated by DBS Child Care Centres, the Centres has been developed with a desire to make a positive contribution to the community.

Central Highlands Council Road Surveys

Environmental surveys will be undertaken in road reserves in the Capella and Tieri regions, intermittently between 22 March and 31 May 2021. The surveys will occur on the edges of the road reserves and there will be no requirement for traffic control.

Greater Brisbane’s COVID-19 Outbreak – New Close Contact Venues Listed.

Ten new locations have been added to a growing list of places visited by people infected in the latest COVID-19 outbreak that has sent Greater Brisbane into lockdown for three days. Venues include Auckland House, 60 Flinders Parade Gladston Central between 7.23 - 9.30am on Friday 26th March 7.33 and 8.20am Saturday 27th March. Queensland wakes up to new face mask restrictions

This morning Tieri, like the rest of Queensland, is waking up to compulsory mask wearing. The Queensland Health authorities imposed the restriction across Queensland at 5pm yesterday (March 29), as Greater Brisbane commenced a three day lock down due to a growing COVID-19 cluster. Queenslanders living outside of Greater Brisbane, and who have not been in Greater Brisbane at any time since 20 March, still must carry a face mask at all times when they leave home, unless they have a lawful reason not to.
