Tieri Community Reference Group Meeting

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference and shape the future of your community? Join the Central Highlands Community Reference Group (CRG). A collective of like-minded locals who help council prioritise and deliver projects important to the community. Anyone and everyone can get involved! You don’t need experience, specific skills, or a notebook full of ideas – just a passion for making your community great. The first meeting of the Tieri Community Reference Group will be held on 1st March.

Beer, Spirits & BBQ Festival is back

Tieri - Get your taste buds ready for a jam-packed afternoon of entertainment at the Tieri Golf Course for the 2nd Annual Beer BBQ and Spirits Festival on Saturday 27th March, 4 - 8pm During the event there will be a BBQ Competition and beer and spirit tasting from special selected Australian Breweries and distilleries.

Central Highlands Australia Day Award 2021

Deserving residents from across the region have been publicly recognised today through the Central Highlands’ Australia Day Awards program. Central Highlands Regional Council Mayor Kerry Hayes and fellow councillors are proud to announce eighteen individuals, two community groups and four events as winners of the 2021 Australia Day Awards. It’s nearly time to head back to school.

Are you ready for Back to School! The first day of school at the Tieri State school will be Wednesday 27th January 2021. Learn more about what books and materials your child will need for the school year and when the Book drop off and teacher meet will be held.

If it’s flooded forget it.

The weekend's grey skies and consistent showers have left behind more than greener grass across the Central Highlands Region. Before heading out and about, make sure to check your route hasn't been affected by flooding. Once you are on the road, please be vigilant when driving and follow all the signage. Public Notice: Tieri Water Update

Outdoor watering is now permitted for Tieri residents with level one water restrictions in place for the town from 21 December 2020 New equipment has been installed at the water treatment plant but there a still a few issues to iron out before supply will be back to normal. Putting safety top of mind

With the help of Glencore’s Oaky Creek Coal Mine Community Grant, the Capella Pioneer Village have put safety first by assisting younger local people to learn good machinery habits. This nationally accredited course was specifically designed for high school students and was held on Friday 18th September. Qualified trainer Kerion Kelly lead the class that consisted of 7 enthusiastic young locals wanting to learn more about tractor safety and best practices when operating machinery.

It’s all icy and cool at the cricket.

Capella Cricket Club were recent recipients of Glencore’s Oaky Creek Coal Mine Community Grants. With the cricket season hotting up, the club has used the funds to purchase 3 new water coolers for the team ensuring they always have plenty of ice cold water to hydrate the team during games both home and away.
