It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! That means it’s time to grab a handbag you don’t use much these days and fill it with goodies for a woman or girl experiencing homelessness or poverty this Christmas. You can help a woman doing it tough this festive season, it’s so simple and it will make a big difference in a woman’s life. First of all, choose a handbag in good condition that you no longer use. Then, fill it with items that would make a woman feel special, pop in a thoughtful note or Christmas card.

Tieri Carols by Candlelight Thursday 5th December.

It’s a chance to come tighter and enjoy the spirit of Christmas. Pack a picnic basket, dust off your Santa hats, and bring your family to the Tieri Carols by candlelight to be held at the grass area of the town centre. Enjoy a great night of entertainment by “Sophie Phillis”, refreshments, BBQ and LED Candles plus lollies and no Carols would be complete without a visit by Santa. It’s Trick or Treat time in Tieri – Thursday 31st October.

Calling all ghosts, witches, monsters and goblins looking for something - Spooktacular to do this Halloween. Get your costumes ready because the Tieri ‘Trick or Treat’ track will be on from 4 – 6pm Thursday 31st of October. Don’t forget to start at the CTM office where you can get a list of all the Official ‘Trick or Treat’ hotspots to visit from 4pm on the day.

Farewell Cath & Kerry – thank you for your committment to Tieri.

The Tieri community came out in force on Saturday 20th September to bid farewell to Cath & Kerry Truloff who have played a strong part in the Tieri community for over 25 years. During her time in Tieri Cath, the unofficial mayor, managed the local Caltex as well as the Catholic Church. She and Kerry fell in love with Tieri the first moment they drove into town, ‘it’s a place where friends become family, and we will truly miss everyone in the community’ Tieri locals celebrated their dedication and commitment to the local community with a dinner, live music and jumping castle for the kids at the Tieri Golf Club, wishing them every success and happiness for their future ventures.

Beer, Spirits & BBQ Festival

Tieri - Get your taste buds ready for a jam-packed afternoon of entertainment at the Tieri Golf Course for their first Beer BBQ and Spirits Festival on Saturday 9th November, 3-7pm. During the event there will be a BBQ Competition and beer and sprit tasting from special selected Australian Breweries and distilleries. All meat is supplied by the local butcher through the Tieri Foodworks which is covered in your ticket fee. Early Bird General Admission is $60 and allows you to enjoy beer and spirit tasting plus try the delicious meats cooked in the BBQ.

Under 8’s Day.

Under 8’s Week is all about acknowledging the importance of learning in the early stages of a child’s life. The event was proudly initiated by Early Childhood Australia Queensland Branch and has been running for 60 years across Queensland. On the day Children each received their very own high-vis work shirt with their name on it and participated in various activities ranging from slime bubbles to exploring the workings of a drift runner.

Bundoora Dam Closure.

Due to extended drought conditions, the water levels ad Bundoora Dam have fallen to very low levels posing a risk to the safety and health of persons using watercraft on the dam. Current levels have also measured blue-green algae content at an unacceptable level according to Australian standards and warrants the closure of the Dam effective immediately due to health concerns. The dam will be closed from Thursday 12th September until further notice.
