Spark your child’s love of reading.

Join a free 'First 5 Forever session' to be held at the Tieri Library and Transaction Centre. Aimed at children aged 0-5 years old the program will give you ideas to try at home, the opportunity to meet other parents and carers and access to fun activities for your child. You can also borrow books to share when you get home. The program will run from February to December 2021 (excluding school holidays) Learn more about the program and how to book a place.

Putting safety top of mind

With the help of Glencore’s Oaky Creek Coal Mine Community Grant, the Capella Pioneer Village have put safety first by assisting younger local people to learn good machinery habits. This nationally accredited course was specifically designed for high school students and was held on Friday 18th September. Qualified trainer Kerion Kelly lead the class that consisted of 7 enthusiastic young locals wanting to learn more about tractor safety and best practices when operating machinery.
