School Holiday Activities at Tieri Library (14 – 29 September)

CHRC School Holiday Activities are on again at the Tieri Library! All activities are FREE but registrations are required - speak to a library staff member to secure your spot.

Youth Fest 2024 is coming (14 September)

Free event! Saturday 14th September at Blackwater May Day Grounds from 3-9pm for 12-18 year olds. Live music, free bus transport, free food, camels and free rides, presented by CHRC.

Tieri Team Takes on Sh!tbox Rally for Cancer

Brian Carlton, Engineering Manager at Oaky North and Loz Hemmings set off on a 3,500km drive across Australia as part of the Sh!tbox Rally to raise much-needed funds for cancer research, raising over $62,000.

CHRC Tieri Multi-Use Courts Community Survey (Now Closed)

Central Highlands Regional Council (CHRC) are conducting a survey to understand the current use of the Tieri Multi-Use Courts and the needs of our community. The survey closes Friday 6 September, please ensure that you get your feedback in before then.

The Heart of Australia Truck is back in September!

The Heart of Australia Truck is bringing services to Tieri on the 23rd & 24th September (cardio 23rd only), as well as Moranbah, Middlemount and Emerald and are accepting referrals now!

Round 2 Glencore Queensland Junior Sports Development Program (Now Closed)

Apply for our Queensland Junior Sports Development Program grants! Your junior not-for-profit sporting club could be eligible for up to $7,500 in funding.

Tieri Pool Open All Winter

Tieri Aquatic Centre is excited that the pool will be staying open throughout all of winter! Lifeguards will be on duty Monday to Sunday, between 10:30am - 4:30pm. The pool is also available outside of these hours to those who meet specific requirements, as no lifeguard will be present.

New Ping Pong Table at Tieri Aquatic Centre

Local engineering business Barco Industrial, based in Capella, designed and built the table, which was successfully installed on Wednesday, 5th June. It’s made from plate steel and weighs 700kgs, making it virtually indestructible. A permanent net is included and everything is painted bright blue, to match the swimming pool.

Water Monitoring at OCC

The water management initiatives being implemented at OCC are leading practice and align with Glencore’s water management strategy for its Queensland coal operations. These include handling weather extremes, using water efficiently, and recycling water wherever possible, including via a purpose-built Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant for treatment of mine-affected legacy pit water.
