Congratulations to the Glencore Smarty Grant Round 1 Recipients

Sports, Education and the Arts are all winners with the announcement of the Oaky Creek Coal Round One Smarty Grants recently awarded. Glencore's Environment & Community Advisor, Hannah Murphy advised that the next round of grants is now open for community groups and individuals to apply. "We aim to make a positive impact in the communities in which we operate, and are delighted to announce our Round One Smarty Grant recipients" Hannah said.

Car Washing for a good cause

Hands up if you find washing the car a tedious chore! Tieri locals are invited to 'feel like a star in a shinny new car' by taking part in the Tieri State School Car Wash fundraiser to be held outside Tieri Town Services from 8am on Sunday 20th June. For just $50 you can have the external wash, shammy dry and interior clean. Pre-Bookings can be made by emailing your name and contact number to pandc@tieriss.edu.au Lock it into your diary for this weekend and support the Tieri State School.

Rugby convert Grierson scores first win at Tieri Pro-Am

Former representative rugby player James Grierson has taken a significant step in establishing his professional golf credentials with a breakthrough win at the Glencore Oaky Creek Coal Pro-Am at Tieri Country Club. The second event in the Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series being played in Central Queensland, Grierson and fellow New South Welshman Jay Mackenzie started the second round locked together and went toe-to-toe over the opening nine holes.

Public Notice : Aquatic Centre to close for winter maintenance

A free opportunity for students to practice their golf swing

Glencore and the Tieri Golf Club are offering our students free Golf lessons on Saturday mornings at 10am & 11am. Oaky Creek rehabilitation earns government approval

Glencore’s Oaky Creek Coal is now government approved for 132.8 hectares of rehabilitated mined land. Resources Minister Scott Stewart announced it during his visit to Oaky Creek last weekend to look at the site’s rehabilitation work, including the two areas that were submitted to government for certification assessment. This is the fifth successful certification application in the past three years by a Glencore site in Queensland and the seventh across Glencore’s Australian coal business.
