Tieri plays host to the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am Series

The Oaky Creek Coal Glencore Tieri Pro-Am teed off over the weekend of the 7 & 8th June at the Tieri Golf Club. The competition consisted of 53 professional golf players and 60 hobbyists.

On Thursday the Golf Club hosted a pre-competition event where sponsors from Alliance, Manuplex and Dowdens to name a few played a 9-home Ambrose. The event was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by our sponsor guests who mingled and played as Phineas Q entertained.

The Pro-Am commenced on Friday, however the rain soon started to blow into town which led to the cancellation of Saturday’s golfing as the course was deemed unplayable.

As the rain cleared by Sunday morning the competition kicked back into gear with Luke Praaz hitting an amazing 11 under par in wet conditions, winning the professional competition and setting a new course record. Dale Williamson also played well with a scoring of 16 under par.

Darcy Hagan and Charlotte Briese took out the event for the hobbyists.
