Thanks to the cooperation and involvement of Tieri’s community, we are now ready to share the results of the Have Your Say campaign!
The main goal for this survey is to help Glencore Oaky Creek Coal build stronger community relationships by improving services, listening to Tieri’s local needs and acting to fulfil them.
Oaky Creek has a dedicated events team for the Tieri community that is focused on delivering regular events that bring the community together.
We have also partnered with CTM Links on a social inclusion project called ‘Tieri Together’ – See upcoming events here
Is also the number of community members satisfied with the current system regarding community issues. However, many community members are not confident knowing where and/or how to report issues to the company.

Only 10% of Tieri is satisfied with the childcare services and availability. The requirement for long day-care is recognised and options continue to be explored. We encourage Tieri locals who relevant qualifications and are interested in working in this field, please submit an expression of interest to tieritownservices@glencore.com.au
Our locals believe there’s a need for more sports and supervised recreational activities, and that is why Glencore Oaky Creek has decided to implement the following actions:
• Sports Hub: Gym and pool improvements (i.e. water system upgrade, install backstroke starters, electric scoreboard and resurfacing of gym rooms).
• Tieri Sporting Clubs: Peak Downs Junior Rugby League, Peak Downs Karate, Tieri Sharks Swimming Club. Contact details of these Club’s via their Facebook Page.
• Tieri Golf Club has free golf Lessons with a PGA professional golfer 4pm on a weekday – adults, 10am Saturday – Children, 11am Saturday – teenagers.
