Sunflower Festival Street Parader

30 Jun 2026

This year, the Central Highlands Sunflower Festival celebrated its 50th anniversary. The annual, week-long festivities are a key highlight in Emerald’s events calendar as they recognise the region’s past as a major sunflower producer.

Hundreds of people came together to enjoy a variety of events whilst raising money for local charities. The program featured the well‑known Queen and Princess Quest, High Tea, Speech Night, free Family Fun Day, Races, Rodeo, the ever-popular ‘Music n Mingle’ event that supports local musicians, and the Easter Street Parade.

Around 30 floats participated in the parade, including Tieri’s own family day care, Little Love Care.

“Participating in the parade was so much fun and a really unique and special experience for the children. They did an amazing job creating their own beautiful sunflowers and decorating our float,” shares Amy Frost, Educator at Little Love Care.

“It was a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with other Enhance Family Day Care educators and the children they look after. A massive shout out to Amy Summerville for inviting us all to be part of such a special day. We’re all excited to continue being involved and hope to participate again next year.”
