Tieri Swimming Pool is now more accessible thanks to a new concrete path connecting the shed to the seating area and the main footpath.
Earlier in the year, the team at the swim centre recognised the need to make the pool equipment, facilities and BBQ easier for people to access. So, on 17th March 2023, a team of passionate locals and Oaky Creek Coal came together to make it happen.
Glencore supplied the concrete and labour, along with PCR Polyweld – Danny Manteit, Ashley Fleming, Jacob Hayward, Cooper Hickson – and Mick’s Fairdinkum Concrete – Michael Black, Belinda Perkins (Tieri Swimming Pool instructor), Heath Perkins (Belinda’s husband), Lachlan McKenzie.
Working together, it took around half a day to mark out the path, mix and pour the concrete and provide the finishing touches.
Now the pool is not only more accessible, it looks better and allows swimmers and spectators to move freely and easily throughout the space. A big thank you and congratulations to all involved.
