Tieri is delighted to welcome Chris Petersen, the new child health nurse for Tieri and Capella. Chris moved to the Central Queensland region from Bundaberg in late 2024 and has been working at Emerald Child Health, before taking on this new role.
“I’ve been a child health nurse for 23 years, and a general nurse for 36 years. I love my job supporting families as they transition into parenthood or welcoming new additions to their family. Tieri seems like a lovely, well-supported community and I’m looking forward to continuing Sue’s work,” says Chris.
In addition, Chris is a qualified lactation consultant with 15 years experience in this area. “I also grew up in Moranbah and have an understanding of growing up in a mining community,” continues Chris.
Chris will be working at the Tieri Family Unit and Child Health Centre on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. To make an appointment with Chris, please phone 4884 6200. She will also be at the Capella Child Health Centre on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
