Masquerade ball raises $20,000 for local community organisations.

20 Aug 2019

It’s one of the largest events on the social calendar and this year’s Tieri 200 Club Ball was the biggest event-to-date, achieving a complete sell out!

Held on the 10th of August, then night went off without a hitch. The masquerade theme really came to life when the attendees began flooding through the front doors with their best gowns on and their mysterious masks fitted.

It was wonderful to see so many locals getting amongst the event, as well a few unfamiliar faces who had travelled to Tieri just for the event.

This year everyone who attended the ball was involved in supporting the local organisations within our community. We wanted those attending to think about which organisation/s they wanted to support. We combined the admission and raffle ticket sales and a fun fundraising idea to do just that.

On arrival each individual was given three tokens to place into the ‘fund’ of the organisation/s of their choosing. The raffle ticket sales were then divided amongst the organisations based on the level of tokens each organisation had gained.

This year we managed to raise $20,000 thanks to our generous sales! This will be divided amongst the following organisations; The Peak Downs Pirates, Tieri Sharks Swimming Club, Tieri Country Club, Local Ambulance Committee, Tieri Possums Playgroup, CTM Links, Peak Downs Karate and The School PNC.

The most anticipated moment of the night was the announcement of the prize winners. Angela Smith took home the $5,000 lucky door prize. The $500 Eftpos voucher third prize went to Ross Clarke. The $1,500 Hamilton island second prize went to Steph Oppermann. Lastly, the Sydney trip valued at $3,000 inclusive of accommodation at the Sydney Wentworth Sofitel, flights and dinner vouchers went to Lisa May. A Big Congratulations to all of our Prize winners!

We would like to extend special thanks to all those who attended, events such as this one wouldn’t be possible without your support.

We would also like to say a big thank-you to Ede Events for assisting with decorations, The Short Fall for their amazing musical skills, Black downs Services for supplying the food, Jaui Mejia for photographing the evening and the Tieri Country Club for supplying the alcohol – We couldn’t have done it without you all.

We cannot wait to see what next year brings, see you all there!
