Dance Students Prepare to Ignite the Stage

14 Oct 2026

To celebrate its first anniversary, the students at Igniting Dance Studio are putting on an end-of-year performance, and everyone is invited! We spoke to Studio Director, Amber Scislowski, to get the details…

Is there a theme to the concert?
Yes…and no! Our inaugural concert is titled ‘Ignite the Stage 2026’ and it’s much more than just a dance concert following a single storyline. It’s a celebration of courage, commitment, and camaraderie, and the belief that every student deserves the chance to shine.

Watching our students grow in confidence over the past year has been incredibly rewarding and we’re all excited to showcase everything they have achieved in their very first year.

Who will be performing?
Around 60 dancers from Igniting Dance Studio will be performing, ranging from our youngest dancers aged just 18 months, through to our older dancers…many of whom will be stepping onto the stage for the very first time!

How long have they been rehearsing?
Our students have been working towards the concert since classes began in February. They’ll continue refining their routines right up until concert week in November.

What can people expect?
Audiences can expect a fun, high-energy and family-friendly performance featuring a wide variety of music and dance styles, including Jazz, Contemporary, Acro and Ballet. There will be everything from adorable performances by some of our youngest dancers, to energetic group numbers, and more technically challenging routines from our experienced students.

Why are these types of concerts important for students?
Concerts give students the opportunity to build confidence, resilience and teamwork while celebrating months of hard work. Performing on stage teaches valuable life skills such as dedication, responsibility and perseverance, while creating lifelong memories and a real sense of achievement.

Who is the concert for?
The whole community! We’re inviting everyone across the Central Highlands to come along and support our inaugural concert. Whether you have a child performing, know one of our dancers, or simply enjoy supporting local events, we’d love to welcome you. Every ticket sold helps celebrate the dedication of our students and supports the growth of community dance in our region.

As our very first concert, it’s an incredibly special milestone for our studio, and I couldn’t be prouder of every single one of our dancers. We would love to see the Tieri community fill the seats and help make this a truly unforgettable experience for every child who steps onto that stage.

When is the concert being held?
To make it easier for local families, we’ve scheduled two performances at different times to accommodate the varying mine rosters and give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend.

Opening night and awards night will be on Friday 27th November at 6:30pm, followed by a matinee performance on Saturday 28th November at 9:00am.

How can people buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased online through Stage Stubs. Seating is allocated with your ticket, so we recommend booking early if you would like particular seats, or are planning to attend with a group.
