Meet the Locals – Kate Legge

Kate Legge is the Acting Principal at Tieri State School and describes herself as friendly, approachable and determined. She moved across to Tieri from Capella in January, but grew up in Clermont. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, upcycling or just quiet time with her partner Philip, 3 children and dog Scrunchie.

Heart of Australia embodies the most innovative approach to front-line specialist medical service delivery in generations, specifically aiming to help Australians whose lives are threatened by this nation’s vast distances. Heart of Australia delivers specialist healthcare and diagnostic testing to rural, remote, and First Nations communities across Queensland. The fit-for-purpose Heart of Australia Truck – will be visiting Tieri on Monday 24th & Tuesday 25th June. Please note Cardio services will only be available on the 25th.

In 2023, Oaky Creek Coal’s (OCC) safety performance data showed 70% of injuries were hand-related. OCC engaged Light & Shade Media, a content production company, who came up with the idea of a multi-sensory campaign called ‘Give Hand Injuries the Finger'.
