Tieri Local Ambulance encourages locals to call Triple zero (000) instead of visiting the station or phoning the station directly. "When you attend the station it can not be guaranteed that officers will be onsite, as they could be out on another job. The fastest way to get in contact if you have a medical issue is by calling 000"

2020 Local Government Elections

Queensland’s next local government quadrennial elections will be held on Saturday, 28 March 2020. Elections will be held for mayors and councillors across Queensland's 77 councils. A big thanks to our local volunteer fire fighters

Like all Australians, Glencore has been deeply saddened to see the destruction caused by the current bushfires and the catastrophic impacts on many families, communities and wildlife across the country. On top of donations made by Glencore to BlazeAid, Aussie Ark and NSW Rural Fire Service - who play a vital role in bushfire preparation, response and recovery we also passed the hat around at a recent BBQ and have donated the $664.30 proceeds to the local fire auxiliary of the Tieri Fire Brigade who have travelled to other parts of Australia to help combat this extraordinary fire season, the support of our local volunteer fire fighters has been crucial in able to help many communities in their time of need.

Australia Day Photo Competition

The Central Highlands Regional Council is running a special Australia Day, Youth Photo contest. Australia day, 26 January, is the day to reflect on what it means to be Australian, to celebrate contemporary Australia and to acknowledge our history. Entries are open to all young people aged between 10 and 25 who live within the Central Highlands. Simply upload a picture along with a few words on what it means to you to be Australian. The photo with the most votes wins and will be announced on 28th January 2020 @5pm. For further information on how to enter click below.

Tieri News – December 2019

Welcome to the final issue of the Tieri News for 2019, what a big year it has been. We'd like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas & a prosperous New Year. Principal Jennifer Farquhar greeted students and family of the Tieri State School last night to wrap up what has been a great year for the school. Here at Tieri SS, we are fortunate to have all three things that make a great school, Community, Students and Staff and "Together as a community, we can Inspire a love of learning, so students can Excel and experience success, as they Reach their full potential, and Imagine any future they wish to be a reality." It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! That means it’s time to grab a handbag you don’t use much these days and fill it with goodies for a woman or girl experiencing homelessness or poverty this Christmas. You can help a woman doing it tough this festive season, it’s so simple and it will make a big difference in a woman’s life. First of all, choose a handbag in good condition that you no longer use. Then, fill it with items that would make a woman feel special, pop in a thoughtful note or Christmas card.

To improve your safety, you need to be well-informed about the dangers posed by fire in your own environment – at home, at work and at play.

Tieri Carols by Candlelight Thursday 5th December.

It’s a chance to come tighter and enjoy the spirit of Christmas. Pack a picnic basket, dust off your Santa hats, and bring your family to the Tieri Carols by candlelight to be held at the grass area of the town centre. Enjoy a great night of entertainment by “Sophie Phillis”, refreshments, BBQ and LED Candles plus lollies and no Carols would be complete without a visit by Santa.
