In addition to his work at Tieri Medical Practice, local physio, Alex Jaquet, has recently launched ‘Jaquet Health & Safety’ (JHS) as a way to provide the community and local businesses with even greater access to a variety of health, wellbeing and safety services. Meet the Locals – Ann Coull

From the early days of dongas and dust to the bustling operation it is today, few people have witnessed the growth of Oaky Creek North quite like local Ann Coull. Joining the team just weeks after the mine first opened in 1995, she helped shape its foundations - not just through her work in administration, but through the camaraderie and community spirit she helped foster both on site and in Tieri. Local organisations are invited to apply for the council's community grants to fund programs and /or equipment/facilities in the following categories; Community Assistance up to $5,000; Sport & Recreation up to $5,000; and Community Improvement up to $20,000. Applying for a Glencore SmartyGrant

Glencore Coal’s Community Investment Program supports local initiatives that make a real difference in Tieri, Capella, and surrounding areas. Through the 2025 Oaky Creek Community Investment and Local Family and Community Events grants, not-for-profit groups can apply for funding of up to \$10,000 for projects that benefit the community. If your initiative aligns with Glencore’s focus areas- health, environment, education, Indigenous support or a local need -now’s the perfect time to apply.
