Youth art – time to shine!

The Central Highlands Regional Council Annual Youth Art Awards is now accepting entries for the 2023 competition.

‘This is a celebration of young artists who live in the Central Highlands Region,’ said Mayor Kerry Hayes,

‘Last year was our inaugural youth awards and we had 61 entries. I can’t wait to see all the works we get this year,’ he continued.

Young and emerging artists from age 5 to 25 are encouraged to enter their original artworks for judging until Friday 2 June 2023.

There are 5 age group sections, and artists can submit two artworks in any medium.

The age groups are 5 to 8 years, 9 to 12 years, 13 to 15 years, 16 to 18 years, and 19 to 25 years with a first and second prize for each group.

A people’s choice award will also be awarded.

The total prize pool is $1,500.00

All artworks will be displayed at the Emerald Art Gallery from Monday 26 June to Wednesday 19 July 2023. The exhibition opening will be held on Friday 23 June at 6.00 pm. All are welcome to attend.
