Sport is an important part of the community, and GCAA is committed to helping more young people the opportunity to participate and enjoy the benefits that sports offer.
The purpose of the program is to support junior sport (under 18 y.o) in the Queensland
operational areas of Glencore’s Coal Assets Australia. The program supports clubs and
associations with projects that address their long term needs.
Projects should have a focus on increasing the capacity of the club/association to support participation in junior sport on a sustainable (on-going) basis with grants of up to $7,500 each available to help clubs get more young people involved, or helping them stay involved in a sporting pursuit.
Who is eligible?
Applications for projects are sought from incorporated, not for profit sporting clubs or
associations. Communities associated with Glencore’s operations will be prioritised,
generally this includes the following Local Government Areas (LGA) and communities:
• Collinsville/Scottville
• Glenden
• Tieri/Capella
• Clermont
• Rolleston/Springsure
• Wandoan/Taroom
• Nebo/Pioneer Valley
Individuals or ‘for-profit’ organisations will not be considered.
The latest rounds of Grants will be open from the 1st – 31st August 2021. So if you or someone you know are involved in a junior sports club, the GCAA Junior Sports Development Program is well worth a look.
