31 Jul 2021

The Queensland government says it is going into a “hard and fast” lockdown to target the outbreak, which along with the case announced yesterday, totals seven cases in the cluster.

Here’s the details of the lockdown restrictions that come into effect from 4:00pm Saturday, and will last at least three days:

There are 11 LGAs in south-east Queensland which will go into lockdown from Saturday afternoon, they are:

  • Brisbane City
  • Moreton Bay Regional Council
  • Gold Coast
  • Ipswich
  • Lockyer Valley Regional Council
  • Logan City
  • Noosa Shire Council
  • Redland City
  • Scenic Rim Regional Council
  • Somerset Regional Council
  • Sunshine Coast Regional Council

People in those areas have been urged to stay home immediately if they can.

The lockdown restrictions apply to anyone who’s been in these 11 LGAs from 1:00am on Saturday, July 31, even those who typically reside outside these areas. Those people must follow the lockdown restrictions when they return home.
