Tieri locals are advised that Bundoora Dam will be closed from Thursday 12th September until further notice.
The dam is being closed due to two key health and safety reasons
significantly low water levels, and
dangerous levels of blue-green algae in the water quality
Due to extended drought conditions, the water levels ad Bundoora Dam have fallen to very low levels posing a risk to the safety and health of persons using watercraft on the dam. Current levels have also measured blue-green algae content at an unacceptable level according to Australian standards and warrants the closure of the Dam effective immediately due to health concerns.
Updates will be provided as they come to hand.
