Great progress is being made on Stage 2 of the Tieri-Capella water pipeline upgrade, with works on track for completion this month.
As part of council’s ongoing commitment to water security for Capella, the current project is replacing 9km of pipeline, building on the 8.8km pipeline upgrades that were carried out in 2023.
Over half of this 9km section has already been replaced, with crews trenching and installing over 4,000metres of new pipe.
Six new sluice valves have also been cut in. Sluice valves help control water flow through the network.
Two under-bores are complete and a third is underway, allowing sections of pipe to be installed underground with less surface disturbance.
Council thanks residents and road users for your patience while it delivers this important upgrade, and reminds everyone to please slow down, drive to the conditions, and follow all signage throughout the site.
