Tieri Ladies Social Hub was established in 2024 to create a central meeting place – or ‘hub’ – for the women of Tieri to co-create activities, initiatives and other social, community or shared-interest groups.
One such group is the Craft Group, coordinated by Michelle Stallman and Denise Farrar.
The group of eight to 15 women meet every month and have fun creating everything and anything, from Christmas crafts, to trinket dishes, to wreaths, to crocheting workshops with Jill Francis from Capella.
“We put the Craft Group together to help create opportunities for the women in town to get out and about, catch up with old friends and make new ones,” explains Michelle.
“We especially want to encourage any women who are new to Tieri to come along. Those of us who have been here a while know just how friendly it is here, but like anywhere, it can be a lonely place if you don’t know or connect with anyone.”
“So, come along to our next catch up. We always have such a laugh and certainly don’t take ourselves too seriously. It’s just a way to meet people, have fun and feel a sense of belonging.”
The Craft Group meets once a month between 7-9pm, usually at the church. To find out more about the Craft Group and other catch-ups, events and activities, be sure to join the Tieri Ladies Social Hub Facebook page.
Tieri considers the health and wellbeing of the community a priority. Due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic we have created the Tieri Covid-19 Hub. Please subscribe if you would like to receive a notification when important information is updated on this site.
