The Central Highlands Regional Council Annual Youth Art Awards is now accepting entries for the 2024 competition.
‘This is a celebration of young artists who live in the Central Highlands region,’ said General Manager Communities John McDougall.
‘Last year we saw 108 entries from youth artists, compared to 61 entries in 2022. I’m looking forward to seeing how many entries we get in 2024,’ he continued.
Young and emerging artists aged 5 to 25 years are encouraged to enter their original artworks for judging by 31 May 2024 at 5.00 pm.
There are 5 age group sections, and artists can submit two artworks in any medium.
The age groups are 5 to 8 years, 9 to 12 years, 13 to 15 years, 16 to 18 years, and 19 to 25 years with a first and second prize for each group.
A people’s choice award will also be awarded.
The total prize pool is $1,500.00
The exhibition opening and awards presentation will be held on Friday, 21 June, at 6.00 pm at the Emerald Art Gallery. All are welcome to attend.
All artworks will be displayed at the Emerald Art Gallery from Monday 24 June to Tuesday 23 July 2024.
