CapRescue, founded in December 1995 and officially operational since January 26, 1996, is a vital service dedicated to saving lives across Central QLD. With a focus on deploying skilled medical and rescue teams swiftly and efficiently, our aerial search and rescue service covers an expansive area of over 350,000 square kilometres. Operating as a not-for-profit charity, we offer unparalleled aeromedical and counter-disaster capabilities with our fleet of helicopters, ensuring that no one is left behind in emergency situations.
Our commitment to the community is evident in our daily average of 1.4 rescues, addressing accidents, workplace incidents, search and rescue missions, and inter-hospital transfers. Available 24/7, 365 days a year, our services are provided free of charge to QLD residents. We collaborate closely with other medical services, especially in remote areas, ensuring a comprehensive approach to emergency medical challenges.
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a dedicated crew, CapRescue responds rapidly to incidents across a vast coverage area, extending from St Lawrence in the north, west to Alpha and down to Agnes Water/1770. Our helicopters serve as mobile intensive care units, boasting an impressive average response time of thirteen minutes.
