It is important we stay the course and don’t relax on our disciplined approach. We must all continue to adhere to the guidelines set out by the World Health Organisation and the Australian Department of Health:
Wash our hands regularly with soap and water
Maintain a distance of at least 1.5 metres between people
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze, then dispose of the tissue immediately
Clean our home and workplaces regularly, especially any high-touch areas
Only leave our homes when we need to shop for food and other essential items; to travel to work which is essential and can’t be done at home; to exercise, or to care for someone.
Importantly, we must not enter the work or community environment if we are displaying cold or flu-like symptoms. If this is the case, we strongly advise you to stay at home, self-isolate and contact the Government’s COVID-19 Helpline on 1800 020 080 for advice. The line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Alternatively, you can seek medical advice by contacting the Tieri Medical Centre on 4984 8386 for further advice. Remember we have a Doctor available seven days per week but we also need to be conscious of not overloading the Medical Practice.
We understand that these are challenging times. If you or a loved one are experiencing distress, Oaky Creek and government counselling services are available via our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providers to all Tieri residents and workers at Oaky Creek Coal. You can contact them on 1300 687 327.
By remaining focussed and attentive to our own actions we will keep our “top little town” fit and healthy. We encourage you to keep up to date with the latest information and advice using the following links:
