Tieri Possums Playgroup is back for 2022

Tieri Possums Playgroup is a great space for people to bring their children from 0 - 5 to develop their social skills, make new friends and build support networks. Whether you are new to the area, or you have been here before we would love to see you! Playgroup is located at Tieri Library and we meet every Monday from 9:30am-11:30am.

Junior Sports Golf Development Set to Return in 2022

Throughout 2021, Tieri Golf Club in association with Glencore and Oaky Creek Coal has been running a Junior Sports Golf Development program.

Quarterly Pulse Survey – Closes 31 January

Local Voices is an ongoing survey series. You may have taken part in the initial 'anchor' survey that has now been completed, if not, don't worry its not too late to join! There are quarterly 'Pulse' surveys designed to track the issues identified as important in the 'anchor' survey, and how you feel about them over time AND are a great way for local community groups to continue raising funds with $5 donated for every 'pulse' survey completed! Queensland records 18,000 new COVID-19 cases, school start date delayed for two weeks

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced changes to the return to school date for the state's primary and high school students. She said projections suggest Queensland would reach the Omicron peak in the last week in January.

Inaugural Coalfields Cup

Tieri Golf Club, together with All-Pro Solutions, held the inaugural Coalfields Cup to raise funds for Challenge on Saturday 30 October.

Building and recognising Young Leaders

Last year Capella State High School and Tieri State School were awarded a Smarty Grant from Oaky Creek Coal for a three-year project. The project centres around a camp which aims to encourage leadership skills and assist students with the transition from primary school into high school. The camp was originally designed to be ‘Bush to Beach’, however evolved to ‘Bush to Gorge’ due to COVID-19.
